Equality vs. Equity

See description following the image

Description

The image shows two side-by-side images of three children watching a baseball game from the outfield fence.

Left Image: Equality

In the left image demonstrates equality since they all have a box to help them see over the fence. One child is tall enough to see over the fence standing on the box, the second child can only barely see over the fence standing on the box and the third child in a wheelchair cannot even get on the box.

Right Image: Equity

The second image shows the same children in equity with the features they need to see the game. The tallest child with one box has what they need, the second child now has two boxes and they no longer have to struggle to see the game. The child in the wheelchair has a ramp so they can now see the game unobstructed.
